1.
Now it's glaring past the bar To see the smoke blowing from the back You ask yourself is that really true Nicotine or worse, chemical warfare for you As it came back inside It asked about the last time You killed me so many times Now I'm coming back for the last time Told it about your new career How it interlinked with profound fear Of employment in the credit age Got a car, caused a crash, still nowhere near Dragon stops to take a breath Puts claws over your mouth You killed me so many times Now I'm coming back for the last time They saw one another Puts bets on when they'd falter Mutter about depression Keep dreams in regression You're back where you began Smoking, spluttering, I understand You killed me so many times Now I'm coming back for the last time You killed me so many times Now I'm coming back for the last time Just like all of those other times
2.
Stride past the last, ethereal wannabes Their intellect fell, with minute honesty Scars down this chest, hid what's left 3 slashes, 3 thoughts, 3 last breaths There's always one way out Take me there There's always one way out Sweet silence Bit down past the damaged artery No one asks about, the darkest parts Where have you been, what have you seen Will it impress me, make me scream There's always one way out Take me there There's always one way out Sweet silence I gave you all that was left Every unblemished part I took what I had to make you Lock me down as yours You hung me out To find my worth Unwashed and unfazed And drowned on your shores There's always one way out Take me there There's always one way out Sweet silence It sings from your eyes Sweet suicide It sings from your eyes Noble rhymes It sings from your eyes Sweet suicide It sings from your eyes Sweet silence

I Smile 01:45
Been burning down for days The touch left astray No one's here any more Too tiring so they ignore Lost feeling nerves Tingling shots do disturb You'll live for another day So smile, for us It never went away Pain turns to traumatize They'll listen, with glassy eyes You'll die tomorrow But chronic pain ain't that bad So smile, for us They all went away I cried out in sleep And crept underneath The numbness, now I focus The days pass by, nauseous I smile, all for you I'm dying, no denying I change it all up Ignore the connections My feelings all drugged up I'm numb but not enough To smile For you

First lesson Never pick a fight with someone with less to lose Because you see They'll fight back, they won't ever die Like a fearless western Believe you're ready for me Like a fearless western You will cease to be Now you know the stakes Look back through my tired face You're my friend, my enemy Just like that awful magazine Is it blade or is it bleach, soaked in my drink, not down the sink I'm too tired, I'll drink it down, I'll never frown Like a fearless western I will pass right out, the film reel Like a fearless western Ennio Morricone scores the reveal Kill yourself And never anybody else Kill yourself Kill yourself Because I'm too tired But I gurgle and laugh for you And you're startled and so scared I'm alive and next to you

about

2015 me said 'gothic punk for the lost, scorned, and worn with discerning tastes'. 2020 me says there's some good songs here, and this reflects me 4 years ago recording everything alone very quickly and setting the stage for future releases.

The vocal mixes were an attempted stereo replication of the times you might rip audio from a tape in mono and get an awkward left leaning mix. It doesn't entirely work but ambition is preferable to stagnation.

The song topics themselves range from addictions chasing you when you remain in similar places, not being sure if certain kinks are tied explicitly to old trauma or adrenaline from risks, being sick and wanting to bite the head off people telling you to smile and deal better with pain they've never experienced, and finally something about hanging over certain people in your life as a spectre.
